None of the great work we do at Maxwell Rogers would be possible without our fantastic employees. This month the spotlight is on Ella Medcraft, another amazing member of our Account Director team. To find out more about Ella, have a read of her interview below!
What does a typical day at work look like?
I start the day checking my to-do list, emails, and studio schedule, then have a morning catch up with the team. The rest of the day is spent planning, on client calls and working with our lovely studio team (and drinking A LOT of tea!)
How did you get into your role?
I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I left school and fell into the marketing agency world when I got an entry level job at the company my sister worked at. I thrived in the fast paced, fun environment and have never looked back.
What would you say is the best thing about your job?
It’s hard to choose one thing…I love both the variety and the people; every day is different and new challenges are given to us every day. Working in an environment with such lovely colleagues and clients makes going to work easy ?
Any advice for someone wanting to become an Account Director?
Having a can-do attitude is absolutely key, anything is possible and there’s always a way to deliver that random last-minute request your client has thrown at you! Also never assume anything – clarify, clarify, clarify!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I come from a big family and love spending time together (when we’re not in a lockdown). I also love going on walks with my French Bulldog, Claude and am usually on the hunt for a building site so my little boy can look at diggers!
Tell us something about you that we wouldn’t know from reading your CV?
I’m an avid snowboarder and am often dreaming of being on the slopes!
When you’re in charge of the office music, what is your go-to playlist?
It definitely depends on what mood I’m in, but Alt-J, Bob Marley, Red Hot Chilli Peppers are always easy listening – or if I have the Friday feeling some old skool RnB is my guilty pleasure!
What is your favourite font and why?
Helvetica – you can’t go wrong!
If you could spend the day with any cartoon character, who would it be?
The little mermaid!
What is your favourite Pantone colour?
Pantone 311 – it reminds me of the sea and I’m dreaming of being able to go on holiday again!
